Texas Gave me a Whole Lot More than I Expected.

Shows, photo shoots, late nights, long days, new places, and some people who started as strangers and somehow already feel like family.

A special one for me is Deborah Lynn and Paul. I met them for maybe 10 minutes at the CMAO Awards back in May, and somehow that was enough for them to invite me to stay with them in Texas — not really knowing me at all. Fast forward a few months, and they feel like family now. That kind of generosity is something I’ll never forget.

And a huge congratulations to Deborah Lynn on winning Band of the Year — so incredibly deserved, and I was so happy to be there to see it. YES GIRL!!!

Then there’s the Blue Frog Bar. I wandered in there solo on my very first day in Texas and walked out with two lifetime friends, Edie and Stacy. Not bad for a first stop. Also, in true Canadian fashion, we’ve decided it should now be called the Blue Grenouille. And yes, they’ve got the best drinks in East Texas.

I came down here for music, but I’m leaving with so much more than that.

Texas, you were very, very good to me.
Already missing it.
